Britney Simpson is the figure skating director at the Apex Ice Arena in Arvada. This is how she spends her days at work.

What's your typical work day look like?
My typical day requires making sure that I schedule all the Learn to Skate classes into our scheduling program MaxGalaxy. There are a lot of classes to enter because we offer Learn to Skate three times a week. I also have to enter Learn to Skate members into the Learn to Skate USA website. I also manage all the Freeskate sessions offered here at the rink. I have to organize skater contracts, manage coaches, and front desk staff.

What's the best thing about your job?
The best part about my job is that I am doing something I love. I love being in an ice rink. I have a passion for managing and now I have the opportunity to work at my dream job. Another part of my job that I enjoy is that I am surrounded by hardworking staff that is also supportive.

What's the worst thing about your job?
The worst part about my job is that there is a lot that needs to be accomplished and there are days and even weeks that I am unable to get everything that needs to be done, done. It can be hard to keep up with the workload.
